Description
The Inter-Institutional Master of Science (M.Sc.) Program in Technological & Management Advances on Intelligent Transportation Electrification Systems, jointly offered by Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH) and the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), is an innovative and highly specialized program in the field of transportation systems. The program is delivered entirely via live distance learning, making it ideal for professionals who wish to advance their expertise without interrupting their careers.
Its main goals are to foster advanced knowledge and research in electrified and smart transportation technologies, as well as their management. Through a combination of theoretical frameworks and practical insights, students will develop the foundation needed to pursue doctoral studies or to thrive professionally in the fast-evolving electrification sector.
The study duration is a minimum of 3 semesters and up to 6 semesters, offering flexibility to adapt according to each student’s needs. The program admits up to 50 students per year, ensuring a high-quality, personalized learning experience.
Tuition is 4,500 €, with the option to pay in installments (1,500 € per semester). Applicants are required to hold a bachelor’s degree (minimum 180 ECTS) in a relevant field — for example, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or similar disciplines.
The application process requires a few documents, including a copy of the bachelor’s degree, academic transcripts, CV, two or more letters of recommendation, and proof of English proficiency. Candidates can also submit relevant professional experience or research publications for evaluation, which strengthens their application.
All courses are taught in English, and non-native English speakers must demonstrate proficiency through internationally recognized tests such as TOEFL or IELTS.

Graduates will be empowered to:
- Contribute to research and academia in transportation electrification,
- Lead innovative projects in the field of smart mobility and electrified systems,
- Collaborate with industry and government agencies on sustainable transport initiatives,
- Promote green infrastructure and the transition to low-emission mobility.
This master’s program represents a unique opportunity for individuals aiming to bridge technology, management, and research in the critical and expanding domain of intelligent transportation electrification.
The academic support of the program is guaranteed by experienced teaching staff from Greek universities, while the structure of the M.Sc. ensures high quality education and practical relevance. The program’s Secretariat is located at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Democritus University of Thrace in Xanthi (Kimmeria Campus) and is headed by Ms. Kyriaki Serafidou.
