The Department of Medicine of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Patras announces that during the academic year 2024-2025, the Postgraduate Programme “Public Health” will be open for the tenth year. With an emphasis on prevention, promotion and health policies, the programme responds to the current needs of the sector, providing tools for understanding and managing social and epidemiological challenges.

With an international orientation and an interdisciplinary approach, the programme is addressed to those who wish to develop professionally and actively contribute to the health of populations, both in Greece and worldwide. Specifically, it focuses on:

  • Addressing health problems in the community
  • In the study of health from a social perspective
  • Using scientific evidence to co-design health policies and evaluate programmes.

The programme is recognized by the ASEP and is specifically designed to serve the needs of working students, with courses taking place on two (2) non-consecutive three days per month, on Thursday (afternoon), Friday (afternoon) and Saturday (morning and afternoon). Teaching is a combination of distance modern and hybrid teaching, enabling both face-to-face and remote participation. In addition, there is the possibility of part-time attendance, with twice the normal duration, for greater flexibility.

Upon completion of the studies, job opportunities open up in public health services, hospitals and health units, public and private research groups, companies, NGOs, international health organisations, as well as academic and educational institutions.

The portal for applications will be open from 11.11.2024 to 03.02.2025.
