The program focuses on the sustainable development of the region through the production of high-quality agricultural products

The “New Agriculture for a New Generation” Organization, in collaboration with the Municipality of Agia and the Agricultural Cooperative for the Production and Trade of Agricultural Products of Melivoia “I ATHANATI” (‘The Immortal’), offer a free training course titled Local Products of the Municipality of Agia: From production to the shelf. The program is financed by the organization mentioned above and by a donation from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (ISN).

The aim of the program is to train and inform young farmers about innovative production methods, therefore supporting the local economic activity and extroversion. The program focuses on the sustainable development of the region through the production of high quality agricultural products and Sustainable Agriculture, in accordance with the long-term planning of the Municipality and in the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The training program is comprised of 2 educational pillars:

1. Plant protection – Modern innovative and ecological ways to combat chestnut diseases
2. Modern Methods of Production, Certification, Packaging and Promotion of Local Products.

The total number of participants will be 32, and they will have the opportunity to attend either one or both training pillars. Participants will attend courses for a total of 12 months and will receive a certificate of attendance.
