On Sunday, October 25, 2026, Skithro Agia will be decked out in its autumn colors and will host the 10th Mushroom Festival, an event dedicated to the richness of Thessalian nature, the world of mushrooms, and the promotion of the region’s natural and cultural heritage.

The event is organized by the Municipality of Agia, the Region of Thessaly, the Skithro Cultural and Recreational Association, and the Community of Skithro, inviting residents and visitors to participate in a special day of learning, exploration, and culinary experiences, set against the backdrop of the region’s stunning natural environment.

The festival program begins at 9:00 a.m. with a mushroom-picking excursion. The meeting point is “Plastiga,” where participants will have the opportunity to experience the forest environment and the unique world of mushrooms up close.

At 11:15 a.m., the event continues at the Sklithro Cultural Center, where the collected mushrooms will be gathered and identified. At 12:00 p.m., Mr. Georgios Konstantinidis, president of the Panhellenic Association of Mushroom Enthusiasts, will give a talk on the subject, helping to inform and raise public awareness about the fascinating world of mushrooms.

The event will conclude at 1:00 p.m. with a tasting, offering visitors the opportunity to discover the culinary possibilities of this unique product of nature.

The 10th Mushroom Festival is a wonderful opportunity to get together, participate, and discover the area’s natural riches, while also promoting local traditions and the region’s openness to the outside world.

The organizers invite everyone to visit Skithro, Agia, and be part of this special fall festival!
