The Hellenic-American Union, in collaboration with Armos Publications, invites the public to a discussion on the enigma of human existence on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. The discussion will focus on the body, the heart, the spirit, and the search for meaning, inspired by Dimitris Karagiannis’s book, published by Armos Publications.

The book is the result of a series of discussions held in January and February 2024 at the Hellenic-American Union Theater, where Dimitris Karagiannis and journalist Makis Provatas discussed the body, the heart, and the spirit. The discussions, which drew huge crowds, evolved into a broader dialogue about humanity, relationships, spirituality, failure, everyday life, and the search for a meaningful life.

Through their conversations, journalist Makis Provatas and psychiatrist—an existential-systemic psychotherapist and founder of the “Antistixi” therapeutic center— Dimitris Karagiannis, raise questions about what it means to be human in an era where digital technology increasingly influences the way we communicate, think, and perceive ourselves. The book seeks to open a space for meaningful dialogue about human existence, inviting the reader to ask not only who we are, but also who we can become.

The release of the book The Enigma of Human Existence provides an opportunity for a new discussion on the issues explored in the publication. Dimitris Karagiannis speaks with existential-systemic psychotherapists Marilena Gounari and Electra Handanou, while Makis Provatas moderates the discussion.

The book launch at the Hellenic-American Union holds special symbolic significance, as it marks a return to the venue where the initial discussions that served as the starting point for the book’s writing took place.
