For the fourth consecutive year, Music from Greece is organizing the Greek delegation to WOMEX 2026

Music from Greece, Greece’s national Music Export Office, is organizing and coordinating the national delegation to WOMEX 2026, under the auspices and with the support of the Ministry of Culture.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Greek Music Export Office returns to the most important music event with the goal of establishing a cohesive, recognizable, and effective national presence that will create real professional opportunities for those in the Greek music industry.

WOMEX 2026 will take place October 21–25, 2026, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. Every year, it brings together more than 2,600 professionals from approximately 90 countries—festival representatives, concert promoters, booking and management companies, record labels, publishers, journalists, and cultural organizations—making it a premier gathering for the global music industry.

For the Greek music ecosystem, WOMEX is more than just an international event. It is one of the most important gateways to the global music market, where opportunities for international collaborations, performances, tours, and new career paths for Greek artists are created.

In this international context, the role of Music from Greece as Greece’s national Music Export Office takes on particular significance. The national delegation serves as an organized bridge between the domestic music scene and the international market, creating a stable point of reference for foreign professionals seeking new collaborations while also facilitating access for Greek artists and professionals to an international network.

Two Greek Showcase Performances: Kadinelia and Alkyone

This year’s event marks a significant success for Greece, with two distinct showcase performances on October 24 that highlight different facets of contemporary Greek creativity. The presence of two Greek acts in the Official Showcase Selection and at offWOMEX reinforces the international focus of the Greek delegation.

Kadinelia — Official Showcase Selection: The duo of Evi Seitanidou and Thanasis Zikas transforms the timeless sounds of Greek tradition through acoustic guitars, vocal harmonies, the lyra, the tsambouna, blues, rock, and psychedelic influences, creating a dynamic bridge between East and West.

Alkyone – upBeat Night, as part of the offWomex Showcase: The singer-songwriter from Edessa blends traditional songs from Northern Greece and contemporary compositions with indie folk, cinematic textures, and a unique, ethereal vocal style.

The National Presence at WOMEX 2026

The Greek presence at WOMEX 2026 is not limited to the participation of individual artists. For the fourth consecutive year, Music from Greece is organizing a national delegation centered around the Greek national pavilion, located in booths D11–D12, which will serve as a shared space for representation, professional meetings, promotion, and international networking for Greek artists and professionals.

The goal of Music from Greece is to create a modern, coordinated, and recognizable national presence that will highlight the breadth of Greek music production and strengthen the country’s position on the international music scene.

The experience of previous years reflects the momentum of Greece’s presence: more than 80 business meetings in 2023, more than 60 meetings in 2025, and over 500 guests at the Greek reception in 2024.

Greek Reception

As part of WOMEX 2026, a Greek reception is scheduled to take place at the national pavilion on Saturday, October 24, with invited guests including professionals from the international music industry, representatives of festivals and cultural organizations, journalists, and potential partners from around the world. The event will combine professional networking with a firsthand experience of Greek hospitality and culinary identity.
