As part of the “40 Days Later…” events honoring and commemorating those executed at the Kokkinia Martyrdom Block, the “ESTIA EN POLI” Socio-Cultural Association, with the support of the Municipality of Nikaia-Agios Ioannis Renti, presents the event “Women in the Resistance,” on Friday, September 25, at 8:00 p.m. at the Kokkinia Block Υard (102A Ilioupoleos Street).
The event highlights the significant contribution of women to the Resistance against Fascism and sheds light on their actions and struggles during one of the most difficult and heroic periods in modern history. With their strength, courage, and self-sacrifice, they were an integral part of the Resistance. Their story is part of the city’s collective memory and deserves to remain alive and be passed on to younger generations. The event “Women in the Resistance” pays tribute to the women who fought, resisted, and contributed to the struggle for freedom and dignity, keeping alive the memory of those who sacrificed their lives at the Kokkinia Barricade.
