The Epigraphic Museum is participating in the events of the European Heritage Days, which share a common theme of celebration across European countries: “Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reimagine” by organizing the following activities:
  1. Friday, 25/9, 11:00-12:00 and 17:30-18:30, Saturday, 26/9, 17:30-18:30 and Sunday 27/9, 11:00-12:00: Guided tours for small groups of visitors to the temporary exhibition titled “OSTRAKISMOS – OSTRAKON II: From Ancient Athens to Contemporary Forms of Exclusion.” The exhibition is on display in the permanent exhibition spaces of the Epigraphic Museum and is a collaboration between the Museum, the Ephorate of Antiquities of the City of Athens, and 40 visual artists.
  2. Friday 25/9 and Saturday 26/9, 19:00-23:00: The Museum is hosting the final phase of the 17th Film Olympiad Grand Prix in its inner garden. The theme of the event is “From Ancient Inscriptions to the Big Screen.” The program begins every day at 7:00 p.m. with roundtable discussions on the following topics: a) “Creation Without a Creator: Artificial Intelligence in Cinema” and b) “From Homer to Nolan: The Representation of Ancient Greece in Cinema.” Prominent speakers from the academic and artistic communities will participate. This will be followed by a film screening at 8:30 p.m. and the audience vote at 10:30 p.m. (For more information, visit the link: www.filmolympiad.com/screenings).
As part of European Cultural Heritage Days, admission to the Museum will be free on September 26 and 27. On September 25, admission will be free for members of the public attending the events, upon registration.
