The film “Medea” by Dimitris Athanitis, which will be screened as part of the film events organized by Petrosophy and the Corinth Film Club on Monday, August 31, at 9:00 p.m.

This Greek film (2022, 82′) retells the tragic story of Medea in Corinth, where the heroine is abandoned by Jason, who goes on to marry the princess. Jason’s decision leads to the order for Medea’s exile from the city, along with her children, triggering an escalation of the dramatic conflict.

Alexandra Kazazou stars as Medea, bringing to life one of the most complex and controversial figures of ancient tragedy. Athanitis’s directorial vision focuses on the psychological tension and the moral dimension of abandonment, revenge, and maternal love.
