As part of this year’s organization, OLEA All Suite Hotel in Zakynthos, the museum is hosting the exhibition “The Eternity of the Gaze” by Zakynthian sculptor Theodoros Visvardis, a rising star in Greek sculpture who has received significant international recognition.
From July 15 through the end of September, at the hotel and the Flow Dine & Wine restaurant, sculpture coexists with architecture, the natural landscape, and an authentic hospitality experience. The official Exhibition Launch will take place on August 19, 2026.
The exhibition presents a unique series of handmade sculptures in marble and stone, enriched with natural materials such as pebbles, volcanic rock, and gold leaf, among others. Through entirely handcrafted workmanship and the use of traditional techniques, the works transform matter into a vessel of memory, symbolism, and contemporary artistic expression.
Drawing inspiration from the beauty of nature, ancient Greek mythology, and the history of Zakynthos, Theodoros Visvardis creates forms that serve as bridges between myth and the present, inviting the viewer into a personal dialogue about time, memory, and the human experience.
This year’s exhibition marks a new chapter for the Olea Creative Residency, an initiative that evolves each year, welcoming even more artists with diverse artistic approaches.
Theodoros Visvardis was born in Zakynthos in 1993 and works as a lawyer and self-taught sculptor. He has exhibited his works in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad, and has been honored with major Greek and international awards, including the 1st International Sculpture Award at the InterArtia Festival 2025, the title of Artist of the Year 2025 from the International Art Society & Academy, an honor from the “Parnassos” Literary Society in 2025, and the Yorgos Foydoylis Culture Award 2026.
“The Olea Creative Residency has now become a permanent fixture at our hotel and an initiative that embodies our philosophy of creating experiences with a meaningful cultural impact. Through our collaboration with contemporary artists, we seek to highlight the dialogue between art, place, and hospitality, offering our guests the opportunity to discover contemporary Greek creativity within a unique setting,” said Venia Xenos, Co-owner of OLEA All Suite Hotel, A Member of Design Hotels.
“Zakynthos, with its nature, history, and mythology, is my primary source of inspiration. In the exhibition ‘The Eternity of the Gaze,’ the works serve as a bridge between the past and the present, aiming to spark an inner dialogue for the visitor and to connect them with human memory and the eternity of ancient Greek tradition,” said artist Theodoros Visvardis.
The artworks will be on display for hotel guests and the public from July 15 through the end of September, while the official opening will take place on August 19, 2026, at the OLEA All Suite Hotel in Zakynthos.
