This year’s celebration of International Museum Day is titled: “Museums Bring the World Together.”
By selecting this theme for 2026, the International Council of Museums aims to highlight the role of museums as spaces that do not erase differences, but rather create the conditions for these differences to be understood and treated with respect.
Museums strengthen the bonds between generations, communities, and countries, promoting diversity, sustainability, and mutual trust.
As it does every year, the Epigraphic Museum is participating with the following activities:
On Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., an educational event will be held for families with children aged 7 to 10 on the topic:
“Theatrical Competitions in Ancient Athens”
The educational program is inspired by the honorary resolution passed by the municipality of Aixone in 313/2 B.C. in honor of two sponsors of theatrical performances. The resolution is on display at the Epigraphic Museum.
The presentation will be followed by an art workshop.
Program duration: 1.5 hours
Number of participants: 25 people
