A contemporary art exhibition titled “In /Out of Time” will open at the “Nobel Building” Cultural Center in Halandri on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.

Participating artists: Martha Dimitropoulou, Theodoros Zafeiropoulos, Sevastiana Konstaki, Maria Louizou, Ilias Papaeliakis, Nikos Podias, Spyridoula Politi, Angelos Skourtis, Vivetta Christouli.

The artists featured in the exhibition “In /Out of Time” raise questions about the concept of time and translate thoughts, places, and desires into forms, inviting the public to participate in a participatory, conceptual, and sensory process of perceiving time as an integral dimension of human existence.

Alexandra Bounias aptly notes: “Time is one of the most complex universal concepts that has preoccupied—and continues to preoccupy—philosophers, artists, and indeed every human being from antiquity to the present day. How do we perceive time? What does it signify in terms of both matter and meaning? How does it influence life, imagination, and existence as a whole?”

In ancient Greek mythology, Chronos was a primordial, incorporeal deity, often depicted as a composite being with the body of a serpent and three heads: those of a man, a lion, and a bull. In Roman times, Aeternitas personified the duration of time and represented eternity. In physics, time is defined as the indefinite progression of existence and events in the present, past, and future and is understood as a whole. Philosophers often grapple with the concept: Plato, Aristotle, the Stoics, and later philosophers up to the present day have attempted to define time and link it to motion, the tangible and reality, existence and the perceptible, becoming and order. And art? How does it relate to the concept of time?”

The contemporary art exhibition “In /Out of Time” is composed of original works that develop both autonomously and in dialogue, through the artists’ personal journeys and an exploration of the concept of the past in relation to the present and the future: time as action and evolution, parallel time, the fleeting nature of time, the ephemeral and the eternal, the sharp dimension of time…
