The Petrosophy International Cultural Center in Agioi Theodoroi, headed by artist Petra Terzi, paid tribute on the morning of March 8, by giving a platform to and honoring eight women from the prefecture of Corinth—and beyond—who have been actively involved in the women’s movement and the field of culture for many years.

The eight women honored are Ms. Margarita Matatsi, Architect-Poet, long-time President of the Corinth Women’s Association, member of the O.G.E. and the “Alkyonides” Association of Literature and Art , former Vice-President of the Society of Greek Writers and current Corresponding Member of the Literary Association “Parnassos” in the prefectures of Corinth and Arta, Ms. Dimitra Stamouli, former President of the Women’s Association of Agioi Theodoroi, Ms. Mina Giannouli, artist and radio producer, Ms. Dimitra Tsepentzi, educator, former president of “Alkyonides” and current president of the Society of Corinthian Writers, Ms. Penny Epivatinou, former president of the Corinth Bar Association, Ms. Anastasia Stouli, president of the Cultural Association of Loutraki Melagavi, Ms. Smaragda Paschalidou, writer with extensive social and cultural activities, and Ms. Varvara Asimakopoulou, writer, founder, and managing director of HRE.

There was a commemorative reading of a poem about WOMEN, sent by Ms. Vasiliki Efstratiadou, lifelong (!) president of the Asia Minor Refugee Association of Corinth.

The musical opening of the day’s program by the musical ensemble “Kallitechnimata,” consisting of Maria Michalopoulou on piano, Rea Voudouri, and Marilena Kyriakopoulou, performing the poetry of Odysseas Elytis set to music.

The presentation by systemic-existential psychotherapist Ms. Alexia Konti on mental resilience, self-care, and work-life balance, as well as female creativity as a force for social cohesion and cultural development.

Two poems by Ms. Matatsi were set to music by Mr. Paris Dionysopoulos, Public Relations Officer of the “Alkyonides” association, for March 8, which were greatly appreciated by the large audience that attended the event.

At the closing ceremony, well-known poets from Corinth, members of the Corinthian Writers’ Society and the “Alkyonides” recited their poems about women. Among them were Ms. Elena Georgiou, Mr. Kyriakos Dosaras, Mr. Giannis Vionis, Ms. Nelli Fragoulidou, Ms. Baritaki, and others. Ms. Chrysa Lionta was inspired, wrote, and recited her first poem!

The event was co-hosted by Ms. Petra Terzi and renowned journalist and author Nikos Dendrinos, while the Deputy Regional Governor for Culture of Corinthia, Ms. Athina Korka, honored the event with her presence.

Among those present were Ms. Stella Kolia and Ms. Alexandra Andreadi from the Phasma Association, Ms. Eleftheria Voulgari, President of the Galini Association and advisor to the Kineta community, Ms. Angeliki Bouliari, Mr. Vangelis Matatsis, former president of the Association of Epirotes of Corinth “Pindos,” Mr. Dinos Kordosis, Mr. Ilias Malandris, and many other important friends of the Center.
