A series of events—public discussions and interviews with Ilias Kanellis—under the general title “And Them Are Greece: Discussions at the Athens Conservatory” was announced at the successful presentation of the journalist’s books on Thursday, September 25, at the Athens Conservatory.
These are public conversations with personalities who contribute to shaping the intellectual, social, scientific, and political present and future of our country. These events are organized by Books’ Journal, in collaboration with the Athens Conservatory, as part of the celebration of its 15 years of continuous publication, and are a continuation of the book “And These Are Greece,” which contains interviews with creative Greeks originally published in the magazine.
This series features multidimensional personalities of prestige, deep thought, and complex contributions who are invited to answer questions in public and before an audience about their intellectual journey, their work, but also about their public presence, the country, its identity, its present and its future.
Participating in the conversations
- Katerina Sakellaropoulou, former President of the Republic
- Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Prime Minister
- Leonidas Kavakos, violonist and conductor
- Vassilis Panagiotopoulos, historian, National Research Foundation
- Stathis Kalyvas, Oxford University, Professor
- Apostolos Doxiadis, author
