[… the visionary compositions of Dimitris Tzamouranis, as counterpoints of a self-subverting photorealism, deconstruct the representational experience and reconstruct the logic of painting in the contemporary world. So that in the end the landscapes and the gazes are the formal continuations of the escape points. A game between the visible and the invisible and the gap between them, which is the outlet of the unconscious. So the question of painting is transformed into an ontological one. It is a version of being in turmoil which ends up in a series of portraits in order to capture our gaze, while at the same time the “blatant” details highlight another reality, reducing realistic design to a living “metaphysical” experience…]
