TITLE: Teaching Assistants

CATEGORY: Part-time contract for the following periods:

a) Fall semester 2025-26 (September– December 2025) or/ and

b) Spring semester 2025-26 (January-  April/ May2026)

WHERE : University of Cyprus, Nicosia

The Department of Economics of the University of Cyprus is now accepting applications for a number of positions of Specialist Teaching Assistants to cover teaching needs for the Winter Semester 2025-26 and the Spring Semester 2025-26. Filling of positions is subject to the availability of funding. It is noted that applicants are not required to be Cypriot citizens. However, they must be in Cyprus on a permanent basis during their period of employment and are requested to ensure that this is possible before submitting their application. Submission of the application constitutes acceptance of the above provision.

As the courses to be offered have not yet been finalised, applicants are invited to indicate in their letter of interest which of the Economics courses included in the Department’s Study Guides they are able to teach. The Study Guides, as well as more information about the Department and its programmes, can be found on the Department’s website: https://www.ucy.ac.cy/econ/ (Study Guides, Syllabi).

Please note that the final needs will be determined when the Department’s timetable is established.

Interested parties should submit the following:

I. Curriculum vitae

II. copies of diplomas

III A covering letter of expression of interest indicating (a) which semester(s) they are interested in and (b) the specific courses they are interested in teaching, and relevant teaching experience.

Selected candidates will be asked to provide certified photocopies of diplomas from the Ministry of Education (in case of diplomas from private schools/universities in Cyprus) or from the Issuing Authority (in case of universities abroad).
