On Sunday 19 January 2025, the memory of Saint Makarios the Egyptian is commemorated, to whom the OAC has dedicated a chapel (Kathisma) on the rocks north of the Foundation.

The Vespers of the Feast will be celebrated on Saturday 18 January 2025 at 16:00, at the adjacent Holy Monastery of Gonia, as well as the following day, the Orthros and the Divine Liturgy, after the celebration of the Eucharist.

The Holy Services will be held in the upcoming Holy Monastery of Gonia, due to the renovation of the old wing of the Foundation.

The WORD and ART programme, which the Academy has been developing for years on an international level, is based on a narrative by Saint Makarios with strong spiritual messages about human communication and the existence of man as ” Face to Face “. More than 350 works by artists from all continents have already been donated and are on display at the OAC. It is important in these difficult days as Greece and Europe, but also as humanity, to find again the true meaning of human relations based on our “face to face” society.
