In December, the digitisation and enrichment of the metadata of the “White Carbon” archival unit was completed.
The five-month project was implemented under the 2024 Digitisation Grant, which was awarded to the HA/NBG by the Archives Portal Europe Foundation (APEF).The objectives of the project included the promotion of archival documents through the provision of their metadata on the APEF Portal.
The “White Carbon” archive contains a variety of documents and books, while a collection of 586 documents consisting of maps, diagrams and technical drawings forms part of the archive. As regards the archival material, which was documented at the folder level, 95 folders and 16 books were digitised. This resulted in 13,050 and 1,057 digital files respectively, which were linked to the EA/ETE’s Electronic Archival and Historical Information System. The enrichment of the metadata of the ‘White Coal’ collection was carried out at document level and the digitisation of 586 documents resulted in 722 digital files.
