Greece’s national participation in the 76th Frankfurt International Book Fair (16-20.10.2024) was dynamic and multifaceted, with 60 publishers, cultural organizations and institutions, 5 authors, more than 750 publications in Greek and other languages, and with emphasis on networking and translation of Greek literature.

After the successful presence at the LIBER International Book Fair in Barcelona (1-3 October 2024), the 76th Frankfurt International Book Fair in Germany is next. It is the most important and largest international book fair in Europe. Last year a total of 4,000 exhibitors from 95 countries were represented. This year, the fair, with Italy as official guest, ran from Wednesday 16 to Sunday 20 October.

In particular, the president of the Hellenic Foundation for Book and Culture, Nikos Bakounakis, the authors Evi Gerokosta, Dionysis Kapsalis, Ioanna Bourazopoulou, Yannis Palavos and Maria Stefosi, as well as the translator of Yannis Palavos in German, Nikos Kaisas, took part in events at the 76th Frankfurt International Book Fair, the journalist and editor of publications Grigoris Bekos, Sissy Papathanasiou, Director of Letters of the Ministry of Culture, George Perrakis, Head of the Department of Letters and Books of the Ministry of Culture, Miltos Pechlivanos, Professor of Modern Greek Studies at theFreie Universität Berlin, Director of the Centre for Modern Hellenism (CeMoG), Zyranna Stoikou and Dr. Marco Hillemann, scientific collaborators of the Centre for Modern Hellenism and Nopi Hadjigeorgiou, coordinator of the Thessaloniki International Book Fair.
