The three-day retrospective to Italian Cinema opens on Tuesday 17 September at 9.30 pm in the atrium of the new Town Hall of Patras.

The screening cycle begins with Federico Fellini’s extraordinary subversive film “La dolce vita”, starring Marcello Mastroianni, Anita Eckberg and Anouk Aimee.

Patras cineastes will watch one of Federico Fellini’s masterpieces, the legendary film that outraged the Vatican in the 1960s and touched social consciences.

The film’s point of reference and protagonist is Marcello, a journalist in Rome in the 1950s. With his reports he covers social news, film stars, miracles and scandals of the aristocracy. In 1962 the film received an Oscar for best costumes.

On Wednesday 18 September always in the atrium of the new Town Hall of Patras will be screened the film of Neri Marcore “Zamora” starring Alberto Paradosi, Marta Gastini, Neri Marcore.

The three-day event will close on Thursday 19 September with Luca Lucini’s film “Le mie ragazze di carta” starring Alvise Marascalchi, Roberto Alfano and Alessandro Bressanello.

The tribute is organized in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Athens. Admission to the screenings of the tribute to Italian Cinema is free
