The section of the Amateur Theatre Festival continues at 9.00 in the evening of Sunday 15 September with Aristophanes’ comedy “Assemblywomen” which will be hosted at the “Old Slaughterhouses” of Patras.

The performance is staged by the theatrical group of the University Cultural Group “Art Kinesis” which through comic form and humorous dialogues, presents to the friends of amateur theatre the penultimate play of Aristophanes that criticizes the then power of Athens.

The play was presented in 352 BC and through it Aristophanes expresses his bitterness about the impasse in Athens after the end of the Peloponnesian War.
