The inauguration of the exhibition So far So close was successfully and enthusiastically held on Wednesday 28.08 by the Deputy Mayor of Culture, Tourism Development and Intermunicipal Cooperation Vassilis Gakis.

The event was graced with the presence of the Consul General of France and Director of the French Institute of Thessaloniki Jean Luc Lavaud, His Eminence Archimandrite Fr. Christodoulos Partidis as representative of His Holiness Metropolitan Filotheos of Thessaloniki, the Honorary Consul of Japan Charilaos Alexopoulos,  the Honorary Consul of Austria Evelyn Wallner Papadopoulou, the Honorary Consul of Armenia Akis Dagazian and the President of the Board of Directors of MOMus Epaminondas Christofilopoulos.

The exhibition is organized by the Municipality of Thessaloniki and the Municipal Art Gallery, with the support of the Embassy of Japan in Greece and the Honorary Consulate of Japan in Thessaloniki and is part of the celebration of the “2024 Year of Culture and Tourism Japan – Greece”.

The exhibition presents fifty-seven contemporary engravings by Japanese and Greek artists, from the collection of the Thessaloniki Municipal Gallery.
