The Department of Medicine of the School of Health Sciences of the University of Thessaly invites interested candidates to apply for the Postgraduate Studies Programme (M.Sc.) “Reproductive Biology, Biomarkers in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Perinatal Medicine“, for the 2024-2025 academic year.

This postgraduate programme has the mission to provide a high level of specialisation, including both theoretical training and laboratory experience, as well as practice in conducting research in the fields of Reproductive Biology, Biomarkers in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Perinatal Medicine to graduates of Medical, Biological and other Schools of Health Sciences in order to pursue successful careers in the private and public sector. Also, after their thorough training based on the most up-to-date literature, graduates will be ready for postgraduate studies at doctoral level.

In the Postgraduate Studies Programme are admitted by selection, graduates of the Departments of Medicine, Health Sciences (Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, Midwifery, Nursing, graduates of the Departments of the Faculties of Exact Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacy) of the Universities of Applied Sciences of the Greek Federation or similar institutions of foreign countries, graduates of departments of former TEIs. of related cognitive subject matter who wish future professional involvement with issues of Women’s Health Care and in particular with the techniques of Assisted Reproduction, but also familiar with the use and measurement of Biomarkers in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, issues of Prenatal Control and Genetic Counselling and Perinatal Medicine.

The duration of studies for the award of the Diploma of Postgraduate Studies is set at two (2) semesters, starting in October 2024. To obtain the degree, students must accumulate a total of sixty (60) ECTS credits. Each semester corresponds to thirty (30) ECTS. Each student is required to attend and be assessed in twelve (12) courses, successfully complete a practical laboratory exercise and prepare a thesis.

The theoretical courses can be taught using modern distance learning methods in accordance with the applicable provisions.

The number of admissions is set at a maximum of twenty-eight (28) per year.
