MUNICIPALITY OF THESSALONIKI  Maintenance works on the new beach for the first time after its regeneration – Interventions continue with the painting of the wooden deck

With an upgraded image, the Municipality of Thessaloniki gives the residents and visitors of the city the new beach, where for the first time after the completion of the emblematic project of its regeneration, repair, and maintenance interventions are underway under the care of the administration of Konstantinos Zervas.

The maintenance works on the new beach continue these days with the painting of the wooden deck. Today the crews were installed at the height of the new beach where the historic destroyer of the Navy “VELOS” is anchored.

As part of the maintenance project of the new beach, the Municipality of Thessaloniki is proceeding, among other things, to restore and upgrade the lighting, to address problems that have arisen from damage and vandalism that have occurred from time to time and to work on upgrading the greenery. This will be followed by extensive work to repair the fountains on the new beach, some of which have hardly ever worked.

The major contract for the maintenance of the new beach, which is currently underway, has been a personal commitment of the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Konstantinos Zervas, since the beginning of his term of office.
