The Ministry of Culture announces the composition of the boards of Directors and the general directors of the five museums, which were established as legal entities of Public Law, by law 5021/2023.

According to the law, the members of the board of directors appointed, are personalities who contribute to their professional or social sphere, persons of recognized prestige in the field of Arts, Letters and Sciences. In addition, one member of the board of Directors of each museum is chosen from among the heads of the directorates of the Ministry of culture, as provided by law. He is the sixth member in each composition. The seventh member is nominated by the General Assembly of the Panhellenic Federation of workers of the Ministry of Culture and Sports (WTO-Ministry of Culture), subject to the possession, at least, of a postgraduate degree and with at least four years of service in a position of responsibility.

As far as general directors are concerned, the law provides as a condition, the possession of a doctorate in archaeology, museology, art history or other science relevant to the aims, character and function of the museum, publications of recognized and reputable scientific works in Greece or internationally and at least eight years of prosperous organizational and administrative experience in a position of responsibility.

The term of Office of the boards is three years.
