The successful intensive theater seminar on “Text Analysis” and how it applies to theater education and practice is being held for the 16th year by the Hellenic American Union. The seminar, which is aimed at actors, directors, playwrights,
screenwriters, translators, and theater scholars, is taught by the former President of the Actors Studio Drama School Graduate Program, Andreas Manolikakis.
“Text Analysis” helps theater practitioners and theorists discover, between and beneath the words of the play, the information
that will lead them to make the most crucial choices. The work focuses on understanding and developing all the elements of the story and the characters, with particular emphasis on the reality of each moment of the play. This process stimulates the artist’s imagination, sensitivity, and logic.
Andreas Manolikakis’ teaching in the seminar is based on the Stanislavski System and the Actors Studio Method. Among other things, excerpts from classical and contemporary theatrical texts are analyzed. There is also a review of the roots and evolution of the Stanislavski System, as well as special
exercises that bring the artist into contact with their personal material.
The seminar will take place on January 13-16, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Participation is only possible after approval of the application form. Those interested can find information about the application process on the Hellenic American Union website.
