Marina Koutsospyrou was born in Agrinio. She came first in the entrance exams for the School of Fine Arts in Thesaloniki and was among the first five in the exams for the Athens School of Fine Arts. She studied there at the Chronis Botsoglou workshop and graduated in 2001. Her degree in Painting was summa cum laude. She focused on teaching Art in secondary education and on the Mosaic and Iconography Workshop. She participated in many group exhibitions (50) in Greece and abroad, she had two solo exhibitions and participations in international art fairs such as Art Basel Miami 2019 and Mantova Artexpo Italy 2019. She also designed set for theatrical performances. She was awarded the first prize for Painting at the International Arts Festival of Crete in 2017 (jury: Dr Konstantinos V. Proimos & Dr Denise Chloe Alevizou). She won the International Caravaggio Award [Great Master of Art] in Milan and she was a finalist for the “CFA Artist of the Year Award’’ by the CIRCLE FOUNDATION FOR THE ARTS. Her works are exhibited in museums, public and private collections in Greece and abroad.
